uniformes
The incident with the dallas police officer and the NFL player was shamefull and it trully showed how the police officers really react to any situation. like i mentioned in class police officers first put on their police unifornme then their human uniform and this happens more when they are young because they dont want people to be able to walk over them and they want to show that they are tuff. i think that if i was that police officer the least i could do is walk inside the hospital to see if the story was really true then i could of just either let them go or waited til they got out to continue the situation. but i think that just by getting a glimps of who the police officer was chacesing it gave him enough info to make him react the way he reacted becasue specially he lives in a community where the mojority of arrested happens to be color people the ur first reaction would be that their is another color person breaking the law. but how do we end this if thour mind always make the whole picture from just a pieces of it or at least it tries too.

i agree with you bout the walking into the hospital to see if they are telling the truth and than after that let them or continue with the situation that happened before they go to the hospital. Also some police department in Texas are abusing the power of authority thats wat i heard from other people.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that the police officer was out of line and could of handled things much better then he did but I dont think he is at complete fault. I think his whole police department should take responsibility for what they taught that officer because it just shows the reflection of themselves and how the department teaches its young officers
ReplyDeleteIt must be very hard to be in a situation like officer Powell was but not hard enough to know how to handle it. I mean, come on he is also a human being and even if he has to be an example of the Law he also has a heart and blood runs trough his veins. I mean, this type of reaction that he had was not the best and even though we all can do mistakes or be sometimes hard we also have to have at least a little of compasion. I totally think that he was just overwhelmed. Even though that might not be an excusse but we all can see that going on.
ReplyDeleteThe police officer could have handled the situation in a very different way once he heard what was going on, but he chose not to. And i believe that race had to do a lot with it. He saw that he was black so he right away assumed the worst.
